Holly’s Garden Chicago
Painting and Poem by Rina Lucas
Nature’s naughty
Is sometimes nice,
The pure joy of abandonment
As feathers flutter and flap
Watering weary wings
With breathless beak and breast,
An otherwise shy Robin
Now a bathing beauty
Unaware she is being admired from afar,
Her delicious delight contagious
Her earnest jubilation worthy of emulation
Her love lavished on herself a lesson
In how to fully cherish this gift of life
So precious and fleeting
With the rapture of splashes and smiles
Among many other moments of
Satisfied glee.
Many thanks for sharing this preview of the exhibit with me! I look forward to seeing you at the opening reception!
