“Chicago Traffic”
My Chicagos
Painting and Poem by Rina Lucas
Breathless beauty
Through and through
Surrounds us…
Color and light
Shapes and sounds
Fragrance and fresh air
Flora and fauna
People of every persuasion
Always peace
Even in the pattern
Of the city’s chaos
And I think
The frustrating obstacles
To our ongoing inching
Forward…
Endless crowds and cars
Downtown delays
Deadlines and desires unmet
Accolades unsung…
Are what allow us
To pause and notice
Long enough
To let sublimity land.
Many thanks for sharing this preview of the exhibit with me! I look forward to seeing you at the opening reception!
